How to Make Confetti Cake Pops

Summary

The objective of this assignment was to create a 30 second introduction for my how to video. I chose to make my how to video based on confetti cake pops (they were really hard to make). The sequence needed to include a title and at least three credits. I honestly had no idea what confetti cake pops were until bath and body works came out with a franguence of the same name.

Tools Used

Storyboard Sketches

This was my original storyboard for how I wanted to animate for my title sequence. I orginally had the idea for the stick to come up from the bottom and have the cake ball come down from above and have the jimmies pouring onto the screen as they land onto the cake pop. Haven’t realized that the video had to be 30 seconds, I had to think of a way to add more footage to my title sequence since my original idea was too short.

Digital Illustration

I had begun illustrating the confetti cake pops using Adobe Illustrator. I was aiming for the art style of my title sequence to be flat but with a dash of shading to make them “Pop”.

Animation Process

After I had finished illustrating my illustrations for my title sequence, I had begun animating my piece based on the 30 seconds given to create this diorama. As you can see I had nested certain scenes into separate compostions to combine them into one whole video.

Final Title Sequence

After days and hours of putting my heart into this animation piece, I finally managed to animate something that I can be considered proud. In the end, the biggest challenge I faced with was coming up with assets and placing them where I would like them, along with creating different transitions through the title sequence. But other than that, I am quite pleased with the outcome of my title sequence
